OK, so it might be a long shot thinking that when our little baby finally has their milk teeth pushing out through their gums, they’re going to be in any way happy about it.

After all, they’ve got to go through 20 little (but not so little to them) milk teeth squeezing their way to the surface in just a few months, but… there are ways to help ease a baby’s pain. Teething age starts between 3 months to 12 months, and can cause drooling, chewing and crankiness.

Sensitivity to just about everything is at a peak during this time, so here’s what we can do.

1. The Cool Cure

Keeping your baby’s gums cool can help them through their discomfort. With a clean, cold cloth, gently dab (with some pressure) on to your baby’s gums.

2. Rub-a-dub-dub

Yes, rubbing your baby’s gums even with your own clean finger can help them dramatically. There’s really nothing like mama’s soothing touch.

3. Teetha Teething Granules and Gel

Teetha’s Teething Granules is a homeopathic medicinal product used to relieve symptoms associated with teething. They come in sachets and if your baby is within the three to six month age bracket, simply sit them upright and slowly, using a spoon, give them half a sachet at a time into the front of their mouth. When this has fully dissolved, you can give the rest. If your baby is older, you can pour the sachet into their mouth a little bit at a time, ensuring the granules are dissolving in baby’s mouth.

Teetha’s Teething Gel can be applied using your clean finger and gently dabbing on to the sore area of the gums and teeth. It’s sugar-free and super handy for applying when on the go or running errands.

4. Time for a Chewie

If your baby is eating solid foods, it can be a good idea to give them some soft food to chew on, like cucumber or watermelon. As mamas know, they’ll need to be watched over while they do this, but the pressure of gnawing and even the subtle taste from these foods is a great distraction. And an extra tip: chill the Watermelon and Cucumber in the fridge for added coolness.

5. Bath Time

Try putting your little one into a warm bath to help calm them down. After the bath, give your baby a gentle massage while rubbing baby oil on them. It’s very comforting to a little one who’s feeling irritable.
