Baby teethers from AliExpress pose choking hazard says Competition and Consumer Protection Commission

Got one of these?

Then you might want to throw it out.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has urged consumers to beware of baby teething products sold through cut-price online retailer AliExpress.

According to the CCPC, this is due to reports that there is a risk to very young children, aged 0-36 months, of choking relating to these unbranded ‘Baby Teethers in various shapes’ sold through the low-price retailer.

Hence, the CCPC is now uring parents who ordered the products online to get rid of them.

“If you believe you have purchased any of the affected unbranded ‘Baby Teethers in various shapes’ discontinue the use of the product immediately and dispose of the product appropriately.”

The Chinese retailer offers a large number of products aimed at babies and young children, including individual teething necklace silicone beads – which parents can order in a variety of colours and construct their own teething necklaces for their babies – which is, no doubt, also a choking hazard and something you should not be handing to young babies and children.
