The details of Prince Louis’s Christening are going to disappoint some people

If you thought you were getting full newborn access, think again.

Next month is July, meaning that Prince Louis is likely going to be Christened.

This will be the first time that the public get to see the new Prince in real time since his birth. From then, Kensington Palace has only released official portraits of the newborn, choosing to keep the baby out of the spotlight until he gets a bit older.

And it seems as if this is the strategy Kate and Will are going to keep up with regards to the youngest’s Christening too.

According to royal expert James Brookes, the Duke and Duchess will very much be keeping Louis under wraps on the day, only offering a “compromise” to photographers dying to get a snap or 20 of the prince.

Brookes told Express that the day was most likely going to be very private.

“Judging by the previous christenings, and the importance of the day for the family, Louis’s christening will be a private affair, perhaps no surprise there.

“The Cambridges are well aware of the media spotlight on and interest in their family — we saw that with the recent photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte playing at the polo match.”

However, Brookes did say that the public would receive the prince’s official Christening photos, as well as some pictures of the family arriving to the church.

“We’ll no doubt have the official christening photos, as we did with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

“These photos, and the images of the family arriving, will be seen as a compromise by the Cambridges. They give the photographers something to work with and then they expect a bit of privacy for the rest of the day.”

No doubt disappointing for anyone hoping for an abundance of Louis photos next month, but at the end of the day he’s still a baby.

Leave him be.
