High chairs, high standards

The IKEA Antilop high chair is a popular choice for many parents. It’s affordable, sturdy, easy to clean and super portable, making it a great high chair for both at home and on the go.

But with its plain white colour and silver legs, it’s not exactly the most visually appealing chair. That’s why many parents choose to give theirs a makeover.

Here are some of our favourite IKEA high chair makeovers should you fancy a bit of DIY to add some colour and fun to your baba’s Antilop chair.

Cozy Cushions

Add some extra comfort to your high chair by adding in a support pillow. Blogger Kelsey Bang did a gorgeous job of making her own cushion cover for the chairs and has the pattern available for free on her site. Alternatively, you can find some lovely cushions tailored to the Antilop high chair on Etsy.

Sticky Seat

One really cheap and effective way of adding a little more personality and fun to your high chair is to use drop stickers. This blogger used some sleek pink and grey round ones, but you can get all sorts of colours and patterns online to best match your decor.

Both of the above bloggers also added faux wood contact paper to the chair’s legs to give them a more authentic look.

Airbrushed Legs

If you don’t fancy the faux wood contact paper, maybe giving the legs some metallic spray treatment is more your thing. This gal gave her IKEA high chair a fab, girly upgrade using metallic gold spray paint on the legs and floral contact paper on the tray.
