Meghan and Harry have come up with a pretty creative solution for childcare at their new home

Always a good idea to keep Granny happy.

Did your mum pitch in after you had a baby?

New mothers need lots of support, and who better to lend a hand than the person who was there with you right from the very start?

Lots of us rely on grandparents at the beginning (and beyond) and it looks as though Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be no different.

The royal couple have made special provisions at their new home for when Meghan’s mum Doria comes to stay but unlike most young families, the Sussexes are not short on space.

Rather than putting Granny up in a cramped guest bedroom full of old boxes, they’ve reportedly refurbished a building next to Frogmore Cottage for Doria to stay in.

Plans for the refurbishments at Frogmore show that Meghan and Harry have done up the one-bedroom outbuilding so it’s “perfect for housing a visiting grandma”, according to the Daily Mail.

It’ll ensure that the duchess always has her mum nearby when she comes to stay but that Doria has her own space – and that Meghan and Harry do too.

Doria, who lives in LA, is expected to fly to the UK this week in time for the arrival of her grandchild.

It was reported earlier this year that Meghan and Harry won’t be hiring a nanny and that they’ll rely on Doria for help when the baby comes.
