5 seriously sexy Irish hotels made for a Valentine’s break

Love is (almost) in the air!

Trine Jensen-Burke

Fancy making time for some romance this Valentine’s Day?

Few things are as lovely as heading away, just as a twosome, and while time and budget might not stretch to neither Bali nor Barcelona this February, rest assured that there are some seriously romantic hotels right on our doorstep here in Ireland too.

If you are thinking about starting to drop some heavy hints to your other half soon, you might want to casually mention how you have always wanted to check out one of these:

1. Ballyfin Demense, Co Laois

This might just be the most romantic and luxurious hotel in all of Europe, never mind just Ireland.

Set in 600 acres of woodland in Co Laois, Ballyfin Demense is a stay neither of you will ever forget. This hotel is frist class all the way, and while we know a room here doesn’t come cheap (steel yourself!), we can also promise you you will feel like  royal from the moment you check in.

2. Dylan Hotel, Dublin

Sleek, sexy and with all the capital’s best restaurants and entertainment right on your doorstep. The Dylan, right in the heart of Dublin 4, will no doubt put the spark back in your relationship and be the backdrop for one hot Valentine’s celebration.

3. Brooklodge

BrookLodge and Macreddin Village in Wicklow is pretty much as romantic as it gets, and this Valentine’s Day their Macreddin Village’s Valentines package includes one night Bed & Breakfast, dinner in La Taverna Armento, the hotel’s gorgeous Italian taverna. As well we this, you will recieve a complimentary 1-hour treatment each with full use of the Thermal Suite at The Wells Spa and a BABOR Spa gift to take home.

And the best bit? All this for just €140pps.

4. Bellinter House, Co. Meath

Staying at the amazing Bellinter House feels a little bit like having your very own 18th century countryside retreat. This luxury boutique hote, nestled in the rolling hills of the Boyne Valley, outside of Navan, is the perfect place to retreat, relax and indulge yourself with a full range of spa services and their award winning cuisine.

Oh, and did we mention the interiors are seriously swoon-worthy too?

5. Malmaison Hotel, Belfast

This could very possibly be the very sexiest hotel on the entire island if you ask us. Think moody colours, huge comfy beds, and freestanding bathtubs.

Once a seed warehouse, the Malmaison has been fashionably converted into one of the swankiest hotels in Belfast, and puts you right in the centre of this incredibly vibrant and up-and-coming city.

And don’t even get us started at the cocktails at the Mal Bar (YUM!), or the food they serve at the hotel restaurant Brasserie.
