5 stunning apartments you can rent right now for the ultimate family city break

Trine Jensen-Burke

I love (love, love) city breaks.

These little mini-holidays always fill me with energy, and I love spending time exploring new cities, soaking up the atmosphere, visiting museums and sights and eating all the delicious food too.

The thing is, so many people I chat to are under the impression that city breaks isn’t the most kid friendly type of holiday. To that I say: You are wrong.

City breaks with kids can be so much fun – for the whole family. Because kids, you’ll find, often love going on little adventures with you – and there are tons of thrill to be found in old buildings, exciting exhibitions, new tastes and brand new parks and playgrounds.

Just, you know, remember to schedule in extra time for things, pack smart, and book somewhere to stay that is child friendly.

And right now, we are obsessed with these gorgeous apartments we found over at Kid & Coe – in five fabulous cities just waiting to be explored:

1. Copenhagen

Visit Copenhagen – and prepare to fall in love.

This style-driven apartment in the heart of fashionable Copenhagen is great for a weekend break with children, packed with design details and close to one of the city’s greatest playgrounds. Step from the doorstep on to cobbled streets, walk around the corner to find a public park, and stroll around the area to discover museums, cafés and boutiques.

The apartment is set up with a master bedroom and 2 children’s bedrooms; items for younger children may be available on request, including cribs, baby baths and a changing table.

This gorgeous residence is in a market town eight miles west of Paris – where a bustling, thrice weekly market tempts with fabulous cheese shops, bakeries, butchers and fishmongers. Explore the huge local park with terrific views over Paris or let the children play kings and queens defending the magnificent forest. This is the perfect place for a family to discover Paris and the charms of a quiet market town.

For design lovers, the sprawling kitchen is the epitome of cool with its Eames rocking chair and Stokke high chair. And if you have hit the markets for some fresh produce, the kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances and a kitchen island.
