5 STUNNING family-friendly properties you can rent in the UK this spring

Planned your Easter break yet?

Trine Jensen-Burke

We are barely through the week of midterm, but spring is in the air, and we are dreaming of the next break already.

Not only is Easter only around the corner, but there are Bank Holidays coming as well, and we don’t know about you, but we are longing for a few days away.

Which is why we are currently trawling our favourite accomodation website, Kid & Coe – which consists of the most stunning family-friendly properties around the globe – like an Airbnb for families, if you will, only way, way better.

For a mini-break, the UK is easy (and relatively low-cost) to get too, and we don’t know about you, but we wouldn’t mind a few days at any of these properties:

1. Charlestown, Cornwall

This pretty stone cottage is perfect for a family with up to two small children and is just a short walk from the sand and pebble beaches of Charlestown.

The house is historic but the kitchen is fully renovated with all mod cons and beautiful Cornishware. There is a cosy wood burner in the oak-floored sitting room and the TV has a built-in DVD player. Luxurious touches include White Company linens and blankets.

2. Primrose Hill, London

This fabulous family home in Primrose Hill includes a playhouse in the garden, wonderful bathroom with egg-shaped bath, and light and airy living spaces, all a stroll from London Zoo, Camden Market and Primrose Hill. Set over 5 levels, with a particularly lovely indoor-outdoor space at the bottom, it is refined and clutter-free with space to play and relax.

Triyoga in Camden is a short stroll away, if you want to keep up your yoga practise, mama, and you’ll find pubs and playgrounds even closer to home. Regent’s Park Road is nearby, with exceptional boutiques and local stores.

3. West Sussex

This family home in Easebourne, near Midhurst, is in the heart of the South Downs National Park with a lovely garden. Designed for families, it includes a large full kitchen and social cooking and dining area overlooking the lavender-filled garden. The dining/ patio/ BBQ area is a fantastic sun trap on long summer days and there is a sofa area to enjoy a gin and tonic as the sun sets and the kids run, play, and swing.

The master bedroom boasts a kingsize bed and has an ensuite bathroom with double rain shower plus jacuzzi bath. There is a separate family bathroom. There is a log burner in the kitchen area and an original fire in the sitting room. Enjoy afternoon picnics at the polo at Cowdray Park, a few minutes’ walk away, and Sunday roasts in the award-winning pubs nearby.

4. Deal, Kent

The space is ideal for a family with a spacious kitchen and dining room that seats eight comfortably. The kids bunk room, with plenty of space for an additional travel cot as well as lots of toys, is conveniently located on the ground floor, while the master bedroom upstairs is a peaceful sanctuary with the adjoining sun-room.

There is also a single room, ideal for a nanny or if you fancy bringing the in-laws. The top floor is an ideal room for a whole family with a double and two singles.

5. Brighton & Hove

This lovely family home, walking distance from the beach and around 30 minutes from Brighton town center, has plenty for younger and older kids including a sunken trampoline in the garden. Cooking meals for the family is a pleasure with a table that sits 8-10 people and plenty of space to lounge after meals.

The living room opens into the kitchen via french doors, creating a large family space, and there is a TV room in the basement for relaxing together after a day on the beach.
