The boom might not be quite back just yet, but Aer Lingus is betting on a winter sun exodus this year, laying on a whopping 400,000 bargain seats as part of their winter schedule.

The winter programme for 2016/17 boasts 100,000 seats from Dublin, Cork and Shannon, with four flights weekly leaving the Rebel County for sunny Lanzarote and eight flights leaving the capital for the Spanish hot spot.

Malaga is the second most popular getaway, with 80,000 seats on offer and nine weekly services from both Dublin and Cork.

Five weekly flights will operate from Faro from Dublin and there will also be a daily Lisbon service from the capital, with extra flights also scheduled for Gran Canaria; Tenerife, Las Palmas and Fuerteventura.

And the prices? If you book early you can really bag a bargain with Dublin to Lanzarote from €74.99 each way; to Faro for €34.99 and Cork to Lanzarote from €79.99.
