Belfast with kids: There is a really cool exhibition for kids happening at W5 – but it’s only on until April

W5 Belfast

We have said it before and we don’t mind saying it again: Belfast is a really great city – especially when you are visiting with kids.

There are tons of things to see and do, from the amazing Titanic Belfast, to dinosaur hunting at the Ulster Museum, catching a show at the MAC, and much, much more.

And should you be planning a little visit north of the border in the coming weeks, make sure you stop by the amazing W5, a place my own children haven’t stopped asking to go back to ever since we visited a while back.

“Children are born natural scientists, so why not bring them to W5 to let them imagine, explore and play in Discovery – a place where children can learn about themselves and the world around them.”

Sounds cool? I know.

And right now, the W5 is running a seriously cool workshop, where your little explorers get to follow the adventures of a small, friendly dragon as he makes his way to W5 to discover a world of amazing science!

As part of the 45-minute workshop, children can then enjoy some simple science craft activities with the guidance of the friendly Science Communicators.

Note that spaces for this event are limited so pre-booking is recommended. To pre-book, please call 028 90467790.

While at W5, don’t forget to pencil in a stop at the Climbit, a huge multi-storey climbing structure, which is a cross between a maze and a jungle gym.

The first of its kind in the UK and Ireland, Climbit is a unique, visually elegant, three-dimensional sculpture specially designed for climbing. Oval platforms suspended from steel pipes and cables let visitors traverse over, under and through the amazing structure.
