We can but dream: The hotels the royal family stay in around the world

Kat O'Connor

These holiday destinations have got the royal seal of approval.

One of the royals’ main responsibilities is to carry out engagements across the world. Prince William, The Duchess of Cambridge and co. often travel to all corners of the world for both work and holidays and it’s safe to say we’re a little jealous of the places they’ve stayed.

The royals have been everywhere from the Maldives and New Zealand to Malta and Paris. They’re rich enough to stay in the finest hotels in the world so we’ve gathered up a list of the most beautiful ones we can only ever dream of staying in.

1. The Ritz, Paris

A place that is quite literally fit for a princess. The People’s Princess, Diana often stayed at The Ritz, Paris during her time in France. It was one of the last places she visited before her passing in 1997.

2.  The Phoenicia Hotel, Malta

Malta held a very special place in Queen Elizabeth’s heart before she became Queen. Her Majesty and Prince Philip famously stayed at The Phoenicia Hotel during their many visits to Malta.

3. Half Moon, Jamaica

This is one of the royal’s favourite holiday destinations. Princess Margaret, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles have all stayed at this luxurious resort on Montego Bay.

4. Raffles, Singapore

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stayed at this lavish hotel in 2012. The couple were in Singapore for their royal tour and chose the most extravagant hotel for their stay. Just look at the pool!

5. The Goring, London

This one is closer to home for the royals, but one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve ever seen. The classy London hotel is where Kate Middleton and her family stayed the night before her wedding to Prince William.

6. Eskaya Beach Resort, Bohol

Prince William and Kate visited the stunning Philipines resort after announcing their engagement to the world in 2010. The breathtaking resort really is the dream location.

7. St. Regis, Washington

The luxury hotel is located 5 minutes away from the White House. Queen Elizbeth and Prince Philip stayed here during official visits to America.

8. North Island, Seychelles

If it’s good enough for George Clooney, then it’s good enough for the royals. Prince William and Kate spent their honeymoon here and we’re only a little bit jealous. Honestly.

9. Soho Farmhouse, England

A favourite of Meghan Markle’s, this peaceful destination is where we’d much rather be right now. Oh to be rich and royal…

10. The Cheval Blanc Randheli Resor, Maldives

Could we be more jealous of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s travels? The couple stayed here in 2014 and we can’t even imagine how serene it was. Just look at how phenomenal it is.
