Planning on escaping abroad anytime soon? Easter is the perfect time to do it. Sun, sea and sand, all while it’s still grey and chilly here. Yes, please. 

We’ve done the package holiday hunting – here’s our round-up of the best; all you need to do is start packing.

Flight time Approx three hours.

What Located right on the beach, Pierre y Vacances Terrazas is a super spot for families, with stunning sea views and its own kiddies club offering everything from sports to finger painting. It’s in the Manilva area, one hour away from Malaga airport, but easily accessible by bus from the airport, or by hiring a car.

What’s on offer Well, it’s Costa del Sol, the family destination. But unlike some hotels and apartment complexes on this stretch of holiday hot-spots where you might feel tightly packed in, this hotel has super-spacious apartments. And they’re self-catering, too. Perfect for families.

To do A boat trip in Puerto Banus is an awesome way to while away the day. Kit out your brood with hats and sun cream and sail around the marina with Marbella Boat Trips in luxury.

If getting around on land is more your style, take a trip to Segway Banus and rent one of these bad boy’s to get your around town, they’re pricey – €29 per hour – but will definitely keep kids amused as a treat.

Eat at The local seafood restaurants are a must-try, especially in the famous marina of Puerto Banus. Vanilla and Route 66 Marbella are both ten minutes in a taxi from the hotel, and carry child-friendly menus.

When April 5 – 12.

What Puerto del Carmen is busy, buzzy and perfect for families. There are restaurants, activities and nightlife to tick all of the boxes for all of the brood.

What to do With teens and pre-teens on your hands, the kids’ club just doesn’t cut it, but this area is surrounded by six kilometres of beach so there’s ample beach sport and activities going on.

Stay at The Elena Apartments are only ten minutes from the airport by car, they feel like mini-villas, packed with all the essentials you’d find at home. Located in the centre of the busy town, surrounded by restaurants and minutes from a sandy beach.

Where Prainha Clube, Alvor, Portugal.

When April 3 – 10

Flight Time Approximately three hours.

What Alvor is a lively little town on the Algarve coastline, just 30 minutes from Faro airport.

The Prainha Clube hotel is built into the cliffs with incredible views of the ocean. Every room comes with a kitchen and stove, perfect for little picky eaters or hungry snackers. There’s saltwater pools, tennis courts, fitness clubs, and an all-important spa for mum and dad. Best of all is the amazing aquatic area, and a super playground for the little ones.

What to do It’s just a ten minute walk from the lively little town of Alvor, with restaurants, entertainment and a little local market, which rumour has it, locals flock to for the most delicious hand-made ice-cream around.
