Family Fun: Take a wicked walk at Jurassic Newpark this midterm

This Bank Holiday Weekend, round up the gang for some Halloween fun.

The Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny is hosting a spooktacular experience that all the family will enjoy this Halloween weekend from Saturday, October 28th, until Sunday, November 5th.

With everything from deadly dinosaurs, witches, and ghastly ghosts, it’s planned to be a seasonal celebration of ‘prehistoric proportions’.

For the midterm break, the hotel will host the ‘wicked walk’, a family-friendly attraction known as Jurassic Newpark.

This walk includes a variety of activities, including ghoulish face painting, halloween-themed fun and games, eerie dino talks by the Deadly Dino Ranger, and spooky ghost stories by the Wicked Witch.

Visitors can experience more magic when exploring the enchanted fairy trail, wildlife farm, and adventure playground, which has a zip-wire and go-kart track.

For the mini-explorers, possibilities are endless as they’re invited to unearth hidden bones and fossils on a dino dig.

The fun doesn’t end there, as spooky scavenger hunts will take place, with haunted hidden items peppered throughout the prehistoric playground.

Kids are encouraged to dress up for the occasion in Halloween costumes or perhaps as their favourite scary dinosaur to really immerse themselves in the experience at Jurassic Newpark, which will be seasonally decorated with pumpkins, bats, cobwebs, skeletons, and monsters who come out to play in a fully interactive experience.

The Wicked Walk is suitable for children under the age of 11, and families are advised to wear waterproof and warm clothing as this is an outdoor event.

Yummy bites will also be available for purchase at the Snack Shack.

This year, Jurassic Newpark has expanded by adding six more animatronic life-size dinosaurs, including Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Velociraptor, dinosaur eggs, and more.

The Jurassic Bounce, a new air-covered inflatable adventure park, is a new attraction that costs €2 for children aged three and under and €3 for children aged four and over for a 30-minute session.
