Galway City Council's planning department confirmed the news this week.
They're hoping to launch the market a little earlier than usual to make up for its cancellation last year.
The market will run from November 12th to December 22nd this year.
Galway Christmas Market organiser, Maria Moynihan Lee told the Connacht Tribune that the council is delighted about the market's return.
“This is really wonderful news for the city and especially so in terms of the retail and hospitality sectors. For every €1 spent at the market, another €3 will be spent on the high street – this will be a real boost for Galway,” she revealed.
There's no doubt the return of the Eyre Square market will bring an extra dose of Christmas joy to the West of Ireland this winter.
The market has a funfair, gift, and craft stalls, and plenty of festive food and drinks to keep you warm and toasty as you potter about.
The Ferris Wheel is a must and the perfect way to take in the beautiful views of Galway.
We certainly cannot wait to visit this year.Explore more on these topics:
