Dublin city centre is set to get a spooky makeover this Halloween, with a brand-new market promising plenty of free family-friendly fun over the October mid-term break.

The Trick or Treat Main Street Market will take place on Upper O'Connell Street from Friday, October 30th, until Sunday, November 1st, with activities running daily from 1pm to 5pm.

Organised by Dublin City Council, the event will feature local artisan stalls, seasonal treats, live entertainment and a festive pumpkin patch, making it an ideal outing for families looking for something to do over the bank holiday weekend.

Children can enjoy Halloween-themed arts and crafts, storytelling, face painting and even a slime lab, while the Scarecrow's Ball promises plenty of entertainment for visitors of all ages.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to pick up seasonal goodies, support local businesses and snap some autumnal photos in the pumpkin patch.

Costumes are welcome and encouraged, so little ones can get into the Halloween spirit while enjoying the festivities.

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Cllr Daryl Barron, said the market was an exciting new addition to the city's Halloween programme and a chance for families and friends to enjoy Dublin city centre during the mid-term break.

“Trick or Treat Main Street Market is an exciting new addition to the Halloween programme being brought to Dublin city centre this year.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for family and friends to come enjoy the city centre and take part in a wide range of events over the mid-term break.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors to join in the spooky celebrations with us on Dublin’s main street!”

Best of all, the event is free to attend, making it a handy option for families looking for an affordable day out this Halloween.
