Father’s Day: 3 gorgeous (and family-friendly) destinations to visit this weekend

Trine Jensen-Burke

Father's Day at Avoca

It will be a different one.

Father’s Day is tomorrow, but due to restrictions still in place due to the outbreak of Covid-19, there will be no restaurant visits this year.

However, dads are usually ones to love a bit of time spent outdoors and with family, and we can’t think of anywhere better to go than Avoca at Mount Usher Gardens or Avoca Powerscourt.

The picturesque scenery at both locations is the perfect weekend activity for the dad who loves the outdoors. A haven of rare beauty and tranquillity, Mount Usher Gardens has a relaxed informality and natural layout that the whole family can enjoy.

With June being one of the most impressive times to visit the gardens, you’re sure to see countless plants, trees, shrubs and flowers in full blooming glory.

And as this is a special day, why not end your walk with a delicious ice cream? AVOCA’s homemade ice cream hatch is open in Powerscourt, Mount Usher and at Avoca Malahide Castle.

Opening Hours:

Mount Usher: 9:30am – 5:00pm

Malahide: 9:30am – 5:30pm

Powerscourt: 9:30am – 5:30pm
