French airline makes family travel easier by launching lie-flat beds for children

Melissa Carton

Travelling with young children just got a whole lot easier.

French airline, Joon, have just announced that they will now be providing lie-flat seats in economy class for children on long haul flights, meaning they can sleep comfortably while they travel.

This service was previously only available for those flying in business class.

I’ve travelled several times with my children and I couldn’t tell you how handy a service like this would have been.

My cranky, tired toddler recently pitched a fit on our flight from Lisbon to Dublin because she wanted to lie down and go to sleep but there was no where that she could.

Families travelling with Joon can book the special seats up to 55 hours before departure for €20 per child. Seat belt extensions can also be provided in case passengers need to buckle up mid-flight.

An adult must be seated next to the child using the bed at all times and for safety reasons, it is not possible to use Cozy Joon seats for babies under 2 years of age.

I think this is an absolutely fantastic idea and as a parent, €20 is a bargain not to have to deal with a meltdown on a long flight.
