Why Glamping Party Mayo is on my list of places to visit with the kids this summer

Melissa Carton

When I was a kid it was all about the caravans now it’s all about the glamping.

Glamping has become huge in Ireland with many families choosing it year after year for their staycations during the summer holidays.

I personally love glamping and have been to a few different spots around Ireland and Germany and I’m always on the lookout for more.

Earlier this year I joined a group who regularly post about their favourite glamping spots and one name keeps popping up time and time again, Glamping Party Mayo.

If you’ve read some of my other travel pieces you’ll know that I love the west of Ireland. It’s where my husband’s family are from and it has some of the most beautiful scenic spots in the country.

I regularly visit Mayo and in particular Achill so when I spotted everyone talking about this Mayo glampsite I just had to take a little look for myself on their social media.

Glamping Party Mayo located in Crossboyne village is a self-catering accommodation which is ideal for a family holiday.

The site features four glamping pods with each pod able to accommodate up to five people in five single beds.

Their spacious self-catering holiday home is situated right next door and can accommodate 15 and can comfortably cater for groups of up to 35 for the exclusive use of their site if you fancy booking it for a birthday or other special event.

There’s also a game complete with pool table, fuseball, board games, books and toys to keep the kids entertained.

The glamping pods are usually available to book Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights for couples and families from €100 per night, but with the current restrictions only for those living in Mayo.

That being said I’m hoping to do a little road trip around Ireland with the kids once lockdown restrictions ease up and I think Glamping Party Mayo will definitely have to be one of our stops along the way.

If you would like to find out more or book a glamping experience for your family you can by visiting their website here.
