HerFamily

Iceland has been named the safest destination in the world for the sixth year running.

According to the Mail Online, the country – known for its hot springs and views of the Northern Lights – topped the list compiled by the Institute for Economics and Peace.

Denmark came in second followed by Austria while New Zealand and Portugal rounded out the top five safest countries.

These were followed by (in order) the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Canada, Japan and Slovenia.

The Global Peace Index (GPI) ranking is based on a number of factors including the country’s stability and the amount of security forces.

So if you haven’t booked your family holiday already, this lot might be worth considering!
