The NodPod Might Be The Solution To Sleeping On Planes…

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Do you find it almost impossible to sleep on a plane or on a long car journey? If so, this new invention could change the way you travel forever.

The brainchild of frequent flier Paula Blankenship from Kentucky, the NodPod is essentially a hammock for your head.

According to the makers, “The reason it’s hard to rest or sleep while traveling is because you can’t keep your head, neck and back perpendicular and at a 90-degree angle similar to how you sleep in bed at night.”

The NodPod’s cords attach to your head rest and will not obstruct the TV screen of the passenger behind you. With the cords secure, you simply pop the NodPod under your chin and snooze away on the cosy memory foam interior. The sling effect will keep your head from bobbing around as you nap.

But is it safe? Well, the website warns that the NodPod is not meant to replace or be used without a seat belt. The design also features include a saftey break away in the event of an emergency.

Pre-order your NodPod for $30 on Kickstarter.
