Kaleidoscope is just around the corner
We’ve got an entire summer ahead of us and are already running out of places to bring the kids. Before the encores of “Mam, I’m bored” begin, we have one event that’ll keep the entire family happy this summer.
Forget the bog-standard trip to the seaside, heading along to the Kaleidoscope festival is the one thing you need to do this summer.
Ireland’s largest summer family festival, Kaleidoscope, presented by Glenveagh, is set to entertain thousands of families with a star-studded lineup.
This year’s festival takes place from July 4th to July 6th at Wicklow’s Russborough House.
Families can look forward to a ray of local talent, as well as international music headliners.
This unmissable family music festival’s headline and main stage acts include two of the biggest British rock bands of the 90s, Ocean Colour Scene on Friday and Texas on Saturday.
Closing out the weekend on Sunday evening, one of Ireland’s most beloved and successful bands, The Coronas, will deliver an unforgettable finale.
Other standout main stage performances include the acclaimed Limerick band Hermitage Green, one of Ireland’s rising music stars, Allie Sherlock.
Dublin rock quartet The Riptide Movement and crowd-favourite The Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow will also perform.
On Saturday evening, Day Fever, fronted by Line of Duty and This is England actor Vicky McClure, her filmmaker husband Jonny Owen, and Reverend & The Makers singer Jon McClure, will take the main stage with an electrifying set featuring the best chart hits from the mid-90s to the early 2000s.
Kaleidoscope celebrates five years this summer
In celebration of the festival’s fifth birthday, the organisers are also offering a free weekend or day child ticket to any family with a child turning five this summer (birthday until August 31st).
One of the festival’s main music stages, Zozimus, will be transformed into the ultimate house party with live performances from ABBAesque, Daft Punk Tribute, The Year Grunge Broke, DJ Kelly-Anne Byrne, Love Sensation, These Charming Men, The Irish House Party, and MegaTRAD.
Kaleidoscope is Ireland’s first dedicated family camping festival. The full festival line-up promises an action-packed weekend filled with hands-on activities and top-tier family entertainment, all included in the ticket price.
Families can also look forward to Scrumdiddlyumptious – The Festival of Food. This will feature renowned foodie experts, including renowned Chef JP McMahon, as well as other culinary champions, who will inspire budding chefs with lessons on pizza, seafood, sweet treats, and more.
Meanwhile, the Wonderland area will host interactive workshops across three themed stages: Expression and Storytelling, Science and Nature, and Creativity. The Ickle Big Top will bring magic, circus, and theatre to life throughout the festival weekend.
