If you stay in a hotel, then there is always a few things to look out for - because let's be real, when you're away on holiday you don't want to be spending your downtime somewhere grubby.
You always make sure the sheets are fresh, the towels have no stains on them, the floor is clean and most importantly, the toilet is spotless.
However, one man who travels for work and has stayed in more than 300 hotels in the past year has pointed out where to look if you want to make sure your hotel room is reaaaally clean, and we actually never thought to check here at all.
According to
Business Insider's international correspondent, always look out for the hotel room's kettle or coffee maker.
Because the kettle and coffee maker constantly use water, they're a haven for bacteria, rust and mould. If they're not cleaned regularly, they become really manky.
"If they're leaving a rusted kettle in the room, it's a signal to me that no one is keeping a close eye on the room's long-term upkeep. If there's mold in the coffeemaker or kettle, what else hasn't gotten a thorough cleaning?" the international correspondent Harrison said.
