Nailed plans for Valnetine’s Day yet?
If not, you might want to book yourself a flight to the UK, where The Old Rectory Hotel in Devon was voted Europe’s most romantic hotel.
The picturesque hotel, nestled in the heart of Exmoor National Park in North Devon, scooped the award in the travel website’s 2016 Travellers’ Choice Awards, winning the accolade for most romantic hotel in Europe and the second-most romantic hotel in the world.
This tiny boutique hotel has just 10 bedrooms, eight of which are in the old rectory itself and two of which occupy the adjacent coach house.
Each room in the historic building is different and they all have special little touches for added romance, from a king size bed to roll top bath or a balcony overlooking the picturesque gardens.
When they’re not sleeping (which, we bet, many of us tired parents would be), guests can spot ducks and deer in the hotel’s trout pond or wander over to the beautiful coastline which is just 500 yards away. We know; it sounds too good to be true!
Oh, and as for food, the kitchen serves fresh North Coast fish and seafood, greens from its very own vegetable garden, and the wines are award-winning (of course they are!).Even better, prices start from just £102 per night, meaning you’ll have cash left over for some prosecco.
Now, if that’s not a recipe for the perfect Valentine’s, we don’t know what is!
