best hotels in Northern Ireland

I love Northern Ireland.

Amazing city-life in Belfast, fantastic museums, delicious local food, stunning beaches, quaint villages and even some Hollwood-worthy attractions (many of its sites have featured in Game of Thrones) – aren’t we lucky to have this stunning destination on our doorstep?

And right now is the perfect time of year to discover Ulster in all its glory.

From romantic country staycations, to exciting weekends in bustling Belfast, Northern Ireland has got it all, and if you are planning a trip up north soon, you can expect to stay in style. The region has seen the opening of some seriously amazing hotels lately, and right now, these three are some of the very best and most romantic places to stay on your next staycation:

1. The Salthouse Hotel, Ballycastle, County Antrim

At this luxury-eco hotel, you can enjoy the most breathtaking views of the Antrim coastline and the Atlantic Ocean. The Salthouse Hotel sits perched above the quaint seaside town of Ballycastle, and it makes for the most romantic weekend if you want to just soak up each other and the sexy surroundings.

There are 24 stylish bedrooms and suites, as well as a spa complete with outdoor hot tubs and seaweed baths, and the on-site restaurant offers ocean view dining.

Eco-warriors will no doubt also love the fact that the hotel has its own on-site wind turbine and solar panels, outside temperature sensors so the building can adapt to environmental conditions and electric car chargers.

2. The Harrison Chambers of Distinction, Belfast

Belfast is stunning coming up to Christmas time, and if you are thinking of a little city break up north, you will not go wrong with a stay in the gorgeous The Harrison Chambers of Distinction.

Dating back to 1879 and located in Belfast’s Queen’s Quarter, these former Victorian merchants’ residences have been restored into luxury apartments with a unique style, with each of the hotel’s 16 rooms celebrating a different creative legend with links to Belfast.

The rooms are stunning, the en-suite rainforest shower rooms even more so, with some of the rooms even featuring beautiful standalone Victorian-style baths.

The perfect place to check-in if you want to explore this gorgeous city.

3. Haslem, Lisburn, Country Antrim

From the same group behind the popular Belfast hotels, the Bullit and 5-star The Merchant comes a stunning new city hotel in heart of Lisburn.

Haslem, which offers a selection of rooms and self-catering apartments to choose from, is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Lisburn or any of the gorgeous sites Antrim has got to offer.

Foodies will no doubt love how you can enjoy meals made from local produce at the Haslem Kitchen, or simply pop into the Haslem Lobby for a coffee or light lunch.

And don’t worry if you fancy something stronger – the Haslem Bar offering the ideal spot for a cocktail at the end of the day.
