They’ve carried us through the ups and the downs, the letting loose and the growing up, the births and the babies and the bumps in the road. 

So why then, has the wrong light or a summer sundress or a dodgy mirror got the power to make us feel so damn bad about our bodies?

The truth, sadly, is that it’s all in our heads. There’s no denying it’s important to be healthy and fit enough to ensure you live a long and happy life, but if your negative body image means you cower from the camera when someone tries to capture a precious moment, or spend a glorious beach day stressing about your stretch marks, it’s time to re-assess how you see yourself.
