Do you suffer from bad PMS? Well it seems it could signify possible health problems in later life.

According to the Washington Post, the study found that those with moderate to severe PMS symptoms are more likely to have health issues in later life.

The research, published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, discovered that this group is 40 per cent more likely to develop high blood pressure or hypertension than those with few or no symptoms.

The study involved over 3,700 women with an average age of 40. They were asked about the extent of their PMS symptoms and then tracked over 20 years.

It is noted that other factors did come into consideration including fitness, diet, smoking, BMI and alcohol consumption.

If you suffer from severe PMS, it might be worth consulting your doctor and it is advised that you get your blood pressure checked regularly.
