Does any mum ever get to be free of guilt?

That’s what we’re asking ourselves after Chrissy Teigen’s latest revelation.

Chrissy told Porter magazine that she had been prescribed an antidepressant as a teenager but that she quit it “cold turkey, not thinking it was a real thing.

“I thought everyone had problems like mine, like it was part of life.”

The symptoms resurfaced after Luna was born in 2o16, she continued – she had no appetite, felt tired all the time and had unexplained aches and pains all over her body.

“I felt bad [about it] because we had so many resources,” she said.

“John was great and helpful. My mom was here… I was embarrassed.”

Known for her colourful social media presence, Chrissy shares much of her family and personal life with fans online.

She first publicly spoke about having postnatal depression in a 2017 essay for Glamour magazine.

“I couldn’t figure out why I was so unhappy,” she wrote.

“I blamed it on being tired and possibly growing out of the role: ‘Maybe I’m just not a goofy person anymore. Maybe I’m just supposed to be a mom.’”
