Researchers Say Drinking More Water Could Help With Weight Loss

HerFamily

A study has found that increasing the amount of water you drink per day could help with weight loss.

Researchers at the University of Illinois looked at the drinking and eating habits of over 18,000 adults from the US.

The results showed that those who upped their water consumption by 1-3 cups consumed fewer calories per day (between 68 and 205 daily).

As well as the 1 per cent reduction in their overall calorie intake, the people who drank more water ate less fatty, sugary and salty foods.

The scientists who carried out the study, which was published in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, said that the source of the water did not matter.
