This year, the aim of the event is to 'turn the globe pink', by challenging participants to complete a joint distance of 40,700 km (which is the circumference of the globe) over the course of the weekend. Every km counts to hit this incredible milestone, so join in and challenge yourself to walk, jog or run whatever distance you choose. Even 5 km could make a huge difference!
After finishing her treatment, tests revealed the the good news that Amanda had responded well to treatment and the scans were clear. It's thanks to essential education and awareness programmes run by Breast Cancer Ireland that Amanda can share her story and provide reassurance to other Irish women with a similar breast cancer diagnoses.
Taking part in The Great Pink Run will raise funds to help Breast Cancer Ireland continue their pioneering research and awareness programmes nationally and help spread awareness of the symptoms of breast cancer, like the ones shown below.

The Great Pink Run virtual event takes place across the world and local communities on the 16th and 17th October this year, raising funds to support Breast Cancer Ireland’s pioneering research and awareness programmes nationally.
