Each to their own…

Front bum, foof, fairy. Us Irish women have some pretty unusual nicknames for our ladyparts. But can you guess the most common one?

Research by Bayer found that nearly 1 in 4 respondents have a pet name for their intimate area, with Vajayjay (22%) and Hooha (16%) being the most common.

They also found that over two-thirds of women are embarrassed discussing intimate health issues with a GP or pharmacist. Which is a shocking number considering how common they are.

The research was done as part of the #BeVConfident campaign, designed to lift the taboo surrounding women’s intimate health, and educate women about common conditions like bacterial vaginosis (BV) and thrush.

So, to help break down some of the misconceptions Bayer decided to host a comedy extravaganza celebrating all things confidence, women and intimate health.

The #BeVConfident comedy event took place on Wednesday 5 July on Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 and it was a roaring success.  The fabulous Joanne McNally was the MC while Impressionist Pamela Joyce and Blogger Rosemary MacCabe provided the stand-up entertainment.

If you’re just a little bit miffed that you missed out on all the fun don’t worry. You can find out how the ladies got on in the video below.

The lovely ladies discussed everything from thrush to vagina-nicknames and everything in between and needless to say they had us all in absolute stitches with their routines.

Roll on next year.
