HerFamily

It can be tricky to determine exactly when you ovulate. Yes, we’ve all tried the pee sticks, we’ve set alerts on our phones and we’ve attempted to figure out how long our cycle is, but sometimes, it’s just not that easy.

Well, there’s an app for that. Of course. Putting the smart into smartphones, these amazing apps are a must for anyone who is even considering trying to get pregnant.

These virtual assistants will help with cycle trackers, prediction kits, even fertility tips. Best of all, they are all free. Now, go forth and start practising …

1.Day After

This is a calendar-based app that does the scheduling for you. Input a few personal details and prepare to see a cool colour-coded display of your cycle in a timeline format. It’s actually really interesting. You can also sneak a peek at statistics such as cycle predictions, lengths and averages. (For iPhone and iPad)

2. What To Expect Fertility

Just like Day After, What to Expect Fertility is calendar-based and highlights your cycle via a colour coded tracker. This app  offers fertility tips, articles on recommended check-ups and foods, even tips about best pregnancy practices, while simultaneously running a social chat feature. (For iPhone and iPad)

3. Selene

For the girl who likes to be highly organised in everything they do. Body temperature, menstrual flow, cervical position; if it can be monitored, the Selene app can do it. It offers both a chart and calendar feature to show impending cycles, and the best days for fertility. (Available for iPhone and iPad)

4. Baby Maker Fertility

This a simple, fun and easy-to-use app that might put a smile on your face. There’s a ‘Baby Make Calculator,’ a frame on your screen that changes depending on how likely you’re to conceive on a given day. When you spot a stork in the clouds, you know you’re good to go. Cute. (For iPhone and iPad)

5. Glow

unnamed

Glow urges you to take control of your reproductive health, even if you’re not thinking of getting pregnant. User-friendly, it allows you to track your period and ovulation cycles, as well as providing useful little insights into things you can do to enhance your fertilisation. (Available for iPhone and iPad)
