This Irish-made children’s toothpaste donates ALL their profits to charity

This toothpaste does even more good than just looking after teeth.

Getting kids into the habit of looking after their teeth is all sorts of important.

However, many parents (myself included) sometimes struggle to get kids to at least try brushing by themselves, as this daily task mightn’t rank high on their agenda of things they enjoy.

However, an Irish company is now hoping to change that with a new children’s toothpaste that not only is fun and colourful to look at, but that also do good far beyond just looking after your children’s teeth.

Irish oral care brand Spotlight Whitening have just launched their very first kids’ product, the limited-edition Spotlight Kids Toothpaste, which contains fluoride to protect against cavities, strengthen enamel and ensure gentle cleaning, while also having a mild mint flavour that won’t overwhelm little taste buds.

Speaking about the product, Spotlight founder Dr. Vanessa Creaven said, “As a dentist, I see children all the time and often I ask them about brushing their teeth. It isn’t the coolest thing in the world so this fun and brightly coloured toothpaste should help encourage them! When looking after my nieces I always try and play a song to dance along to while brushing. Getting kids into the habit of brushing their teeth is so important!”

What is even more impressive, the toothpaste, which was created by Irish dentists (and sisters) Lisa & Vanessa Creaven and made in Ireland, will donate 100% of the profits to children’s charity, ISPCC ChildLine.

Dr. Lisa Creaven said, “We are delighted to be able to create a practical product in aid of Childline. As dentists, it seemed like an obvious choice to create a children’s toothpaste. This is an amazing Irish charity which raises over 90 per cent of its income through fundraising, so I’m delighted as a parent to be able to offer my support as part of the weekly shop!”

This is what ISPCC Chief Executive, Grainia Long, had to say about the initiative:

“We would like to thank Spotlight Whitening for supporting Childline. The partnership will raise vital funds and awareness for Ireland’s national active listening service for children and young people. Childline receives over 380,000 calls each year from children and young people who often feel they have nowhere else to turn. The funds received from the sale of Spotlight Kids Toothpaste will help to ensure that our staff and volunteers can continue to be there for children – 24 hours a day, every day of the year.”

Spotlight Kids Toothpaste is priced at €5.95 and is available from Boots and pharmacies nationwide.
