The mum-of-five is putting her paramedic training to good use.

Katie Price took to the Loose Women stage today to show parents a very important technique.

With the help of a first aid trainer, the panellist showed viewers the steps they should take if a child is choking.

Hosting the show this morning, Coleen Nolan had a very important message for viewers as she introduced the segment, saying:

“We’ve made this to save lives so watch it, take note and please share it to save a child’s life.”

Katie is currently training to become a paramedic and using a dummy to demonstrate the technique, she told viewers about the procedure she has learned.

She began by telling the audience to make sure the child is in a safe area before beginning treatment.

Next, you must ask them to cough, lean them forward and with five sharp blows on their back between the shoulder blades, hope that that is enough to clear their airway.

If not, she told viewers to call 999 but to stay with the child. Try another five blows to the back and follow that with five thrusts to the abdomen, and continue this until the airway is cleared.

However, if the child loses consciousness, Katie said this is when you should begin CPR.
