Your latte and morning porridge is about to get an upgrade – meet Flahavan’s new Oat Drink range

If you have yet to be introduced to the deliciousness that is an oat milk latte, girl, you are missing out.

Being vegetarian (mostly vegan, to be honest) it has been a few years since I gave up dairy, and started going for alternative kinds of 'milk' when it came to both my morning coffee, and also for all other things. I tried soy, but was never a fan, and likewise, I went through a phase of drinking both almond and coconut milk in my latte, yet it never really felt as decadent and frothy as regular milk had been, although I didn't mind the taste at all. However, since the day I tried oat milk for the first time, I have never looked back. Not only are oats a far more sustainable and locally-sourced choice for us here in Europe, but oat milk also tastes so, so good. I use oat milk now for all my baking, for cereal, porridge and last, but not least, for my morning latte. And so now, when I learned that Flahavan’s were launching their first-ever Oat Drink range, you can say I was pretty excited. A product I LOVE made by an Irish company, meaning even more sustainable and short-travelled? Bring it on. The new range was created in response to the increasing popularity of plant-based beverages in recent years, and is made using only the highest quality Irish oats. The range is suitable for vegans, and has the yummiest oaty flavour; contains zero added sugar and works pretty much the exact same way as cow's milk – as in, you can use it in the exact same way. Realising we are all going ga-ga for anything plant-based and made of oats these days, Flahavan's developed three oat drink products, the Vitamin Rich, the Organic and the Barista – all made with locally sourced oats. Having been allowed a sneak preview of the range of drinks, I am happy to report they were so, so delicious, and my kids loved them too. We have used the oat drinks for making smoothies, milkshakes, cakes, porridge and served over both cereal and granola. Yum. And as for the Barista version? It was frothy, perfect and literally produced the nicest latte I have had in a really long time!
