When it comes around to that time of the month, we usually stock up on chocolate, locate our favourite tracksuit bottoms and have a hot water bottle at the ready.

And it seems most women are exactly the same.

According to Women’s Health, secret-sharing site Whisper asked over 50,000 users about how they deal with their period.

Over a third (34 per cent to be exact) said that they simply sleep it off while another third admitted to turning to junk food.

Just under a quarter put on Netflix to binge on their favourite show with less than 10 per cent going for the classic combo of wine and chocolate.

  • Tweaking your diet
  • Doing light exercise
  • Taking pain relief
  • Applying heat to the area
