Previously anti-vax mum explains why she is vaccinating her kids

“Glad my babies don’t need to suffer through preventable infectious diseases.”

A previously anti-vax mum has explained why she decided to vaccinated her children.

Abbey Clint said that she grew up taught that vaccinations were unnecessary, and that because of this, she has had to catch up on the shots that she missed when she was younger.

Writing on Facebook, she said that she doesn’t want her own kids to catch any diseases that could have easily been preventable.

“Madelyn got her shots today!” she wrote. “I grew up unvaccinated before it was cool.”

“I’ve had to catch up on my inoculations with each pregnancy. Glad I didn’t catch measles while pregnant!”

“Glad my babies don’t need to suffer through preventable infectious diseases. Preventative maintenance saves co-pays and saves lives. Proud to vaccinate.”

Clint also included some photos of her daughter, as well as an infographic about the inaccurate link between vaccines and autism.

This misinformation is often shared by anti-vaxxers as a means of scaremongering parents into not vaccinating their children.

The infographic details what started the rumours about the ‘link’ between vaccines and autism, eventually coming to the conclusion that we are all completely aware of – that there is no link and that vaccines do, indeed, work.

Great to see a change.
