Commenting on the company's direction, co-founder Fiona Parfrey said: "First and foremost, we’re here to create high quality and healthier period care, but we believe it shouldn’t cost the earth. That’s why we’re constantly looking at ways that we can continue to make steps in the right direction for a more sustainable future.”
According to their website, Riley's products are made without bleach, pesticides, toxins or harmful chemicals. What's more, the start-up is on a mission to "end period plastic", and cites sustainability as one of their core values.
Additionally, Riley is partnered with Development Pamoja, an Irish registered charity in Kenya, which provides period products to students there. In Ireland, they've partnered with Positive Period Ireland, an NGO which collects donations of period products to be shared and distributed through front-line services. Through this partnership, Riley donates eco-friendly products to homeless outreach centres, Direct Provision Centres and women's refuges throughout the country.
