WATCH: Sesame Street’s Elmo encourages kids to get vaccinated

The video seems to take a shot at anti-vaxxers

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy has teamed up with Sesame Street’s Elmo to explain how vaccines work, and why they’re so important for children’s health.

In a new video produced by the Daily Dot, Vivek Murthy compares antibodies to superheroes and talks about the health benefits of getting vaccinated, before Elmo is shown getting a vaccination himself.

The end of the video seems to be aimed at anti-vaxxers, with the Muppet character remarking, “Boy, that was so easy!” Then asking, “Why doesn’t everybody get a vaccination?”

To which Vivek repiles, “That’s a good question, Elmo, that’s a good question.” The pair then stroke their chins as they stare into the camera.

The two also appeared together in another video about vaccinations that was published on the US Department of Health and Human Services website last week.
