A survey has revealed the top 50 little things in life that make people happy.
The Express reports that the research was commissioned by website spirini.com and involved 2,000 adults in the UK.
It found that people were, on average, happy four times a day and the happiest age was found to be 26 years. Over half of those polled considered themselves happy with just 16 per cent saying they were generally unhappy.

As for the simple things that make people happy, here are the top 10 (and we’ll admit we were a little surprised by what claimed the top spot)…
- Getting a bargain
- Getting into a bed with freshly ironed sheets
- Seeing the sunshine
- Finding a forgotten tenner in your pocket
- Being told you've lost weight
- Funny animal videos
- Someone telling you that you look nice
- Seeing a baby's smile
- Smell of freshly cut grass
- Seeing an old couple holding hands
Other occurrences that made it into the top 50 include a lie in, a good hair day, receiving flowers or chocolates, hearing one of your kids being super police, finding a comfortable bra, being greeted by the dog and (rather cynically) seeing people fall over.
