Survey Reveals How Many Couples Actually Have Sex On Their Wedding Night

HerFamily

Everybody knows that a big part of tying the knot is the wedding night. You usually buy something sexy to wear and de-fuzz your entire body in anticipation of your first session as a married couple.

Which is why it may come (ahem) as a surprise that the majority of people, 52 per cent to be exact, don’t do the deed on their wedding night.

The statistic was revealed in a recent survey involving 1,000 couples and conducted by lingerie brand Bluebella.

The main reason cited by women for not having sex after the big day was tiredness whilst most men said that drunkenness was the reason.

Other excuses were waiting for the perfect moment, not wanting to leave party guests and heading off on honeymoon.

As for when couples eventually get around to consummating their marriage, a third got busy the morning after while 1 in 10 waited for 48 hours and just 2 per cent didn’t get around to it for a whole week.

Fingers crossed that the 89 per cent of women who purchased new underwear for the occasion actually brought it out!
