Baby gasps for air but mum records it for the most important reason

It sounds harsh but it’s probably a very good idea.

Mum and blogger Sophie Cachia shared an Instagram video of her little girl Florence struggling to breathe as they made their way to the hospital.

Nine-month-old Florence suffers from asthma, as well as her brother Bobby. Sophie said;

“With Bobby being an asthmatic, we’re well aware of the signs to look for.”

Mum also explains that what we can see in the video is baby “Flossy” “sucking in under her throat and her ribs” meaning she’s struggling and fighting to breathe. Other symptoms of asthma can include coughing, wheezing, panting, tiredness and rapid breathing.

“We used prior knowledge and listened to our gut and Jaryd took her in just before bedtime. Lucky, because the poor thing spent the night hooked up to oxygen.”

The quick-thinking mama recorded all of this in case the tot’s symptoms lessened or disappeared before they made it to the hospital. Good thinking mama.

It’s very important that doctors can see exactly what’s going on in order to understand the problem and help patients in the best possible way. If symptoms did lessen, at least doctors would still have something to work with and potentially find a diagnosis.

Maybe we’ve found another major benefit from modern technology. And if you aren’t recording those symptoms yet for situations like these, it’s not to late to start.
