Michelle Keaton has showed her surgical scars on ITV’s Loose Women.
The former singer was visibly nervous as she talked presenter Ruth Langsford through the scars on her stomach from her C-scetion and hysterectomy.
She explained that the decision to show her scars was not an easy one.
“First I did say no because I didn’t feel comfortable,” she said.
“My whole thing is about trying to get women to be comfortable in their bodies no matter what size they are and to show that you can change the way you look if you want to,” she continued.
“No matter what your body goes through in life, we’re all very strong and we can do whatever we want to do… I though if I don’t do it and show everybody that you can do it, then who am I to give advice to other people?”
The mum of two elected to have a full hysterectomy in 2014 after tests revealed she carried the BRCA2 gene, putting her at a higher risk of having ovarian cancer.
