Here’s how your kids can see Santa’s reindeer in your own home this Christmas

Adorable.

There are plenty of ways Irish parents bring a little bit more Christmas cheer to the home around this time of year.

Doing a load of Elf on the Shelf activities is one way. Baking an assortment of Christmas baked goods is another.

And watching Santa’s actual reindeer eat carrots in the sitting room is another – probably the best one, in fairness.

Don’t worry though – you won’t actually need to go steal a real life reindeer and smuggle it back to your gaff to make this happen – all you need to do is download an app.

Definitely easier than doing the whole Elf on a Shelf thing anyway.

The new Reindeer Ready app from McDonald’s allows users to see some virtual reindeer chowing down on their supper right in the middle of their gaff.

The app, which can be accessed here via phone or tablet, uses a photo of your room to create a magical Christmas scene where reindeer are enjoying themselves.

The video can then be played for kids and adults alike to enjoy.

This comes after McDonald’s Christmas ad for this year showed Santa popping into McDonald’s to grab some healthy carrots for his deer after no parents left any out for them.

Christmas mightn’t be the healthiest time of year, but Rudolph needs to eat too, lads.

You can access the Reindeer Ready app here.
