This Irish homeless chairty has put out an appeal to families struggling with back to school costs.

Charity organisation, Feed Our Homeless, posted a message to their Facebook page this week in a bid to help parents in need of school unifroms.

The post told readers of the page that they had school uniforms available in a variety of sizes and colurs for those in need of them.

The non profit organisation based on Lower Mount Street, Dublin 2, operate a soup kitchen six nights a week in Dublin City Centre.

They also teach educational school workshops as well as running an outreach programme.

Back to school costs are amongst the biggest financial sturggles for most families, with some parents even falling into debt to cover the price of uniforms, books and school fees.

The Irish League of Credit Unions indicated this year that parents are now spending on average €999 on primary school children and well over €1,300 on secondary school children.

Children’s charity Barnardos recently slammed the notion of Ireland having a free educational system as back to school costs continue to rise each year.
