Meet the mum with TEN sons (and she swears she’s not having any more)

Hats off to her.

The ‘boys Vs girls – which are easier’ debate is a popular one among parents.

I’ve a young daughter (four-and-a-half) and a son (aged two) myself and my general summation is that girls are often more independent – so at times they can seem simpler to manage.

Boys are more demanding, but are very loving and lovely.

So swings ‘n’ roundabouts ‘n’ all that jazz.

That and mums of two or even three boys, or of two or even three girls, often find themselves having to answer questions about whether they’re tempted “to go again to get the girl/boy”.

Both conversations are presumably ones that a certain Alexis Brett has had on countless occasions over the last decade-and-a-half.

She’s still only 38 and is a mum of TEN boys – aged between 16 and seven months.

Her husband, David, is a train driver and she’s a former nurse; they live in Inverness in Scotland in a five-bed house and she’s up at 5.30am every morning.

David was actually diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease five years ago, but Alexis – an only child – says he’s a hands-on parent and does his fair share of washing, cooking, and cleaning too.

She told DailyMail.com recently: “After you’ve had four it’s not much of a jump because by then everything becomes a routine and everyone fits in.”

She added: “Although I like things around the house to be done properly and the house to be kept clean, I am a pretty chilled-out parent.”

Hats off to her.

Ms Brett – who doesn’t avail of any paid-for childcare – is adamant that she hasn’t missed out by not having a daughter. That and they always found out the sex at the 20-week scan, so there were never any surprises.

As for baba No.11? Alexi insists: “Ten boys is a nice even number and it seems a good place to call time.”

Hear, hear!
