Boy left fighting for his life after swallowing 14 ‘powerful’ magnets

A warning has been issued after a young boy nearly died when he swallowed 14 “powerful” magnets.

Mikah Arvidson was playing with his brother’s toy magnet puzzle game when he wasn’t supposed to be.

Afraid of getting caught, Mikah decided to swallow 14 pieces of the ball game to hide the evidence.

The pieces of magnet then travelled through the boy’s digestive system, perforating his bowels and causing serious damage.

Mikah’s parents, Aubrey and Blake, did not know their son had swallowed the magnets and his stomach cramps were dismissed by doctors as the flu.

Eventually, the real reason behind Mikah’s pain was discovered and he underwent emergency surgery to have part of his intestine and his appendix removed.

According to Mikah’s GoFundMe page for his medical bills, the two surgeries he underwent were “life saving.”

“It is truly a miracle this little boy survived,” the page reads.

“At this time, he is still in the hospital and there is no projected ‘go home’ date. Mikah is a fighter and they are hopeful for a quick recovery. His parents are extremely grateful for the prayers and support.”

The GoFundMe has been set up to help Aubrey and Blake pay for their son’s medical bills and has already raised over $3,000 of its $10,000 goal.

The pair had to take a lot of time off work to care for their son following the accident.
