Stacey Solomon accused of ‘child abuse’ for sharing bath with sons

'I’ve never ever felt uncomfortable about being naked in front of my children.'

Stacey Solomon has revealed that she was branded a ‘child abuser’ for taking a bath with her sons.

Stacey is mum to boys Zachary, 10, and Leighton, 6, and said that “all hell broke loose” when she shared a photo of their bath to social media.

The image shows her and the two boys, covered in bubbles, sitting in the bath giggling.

The 28-year-old said that if people choose to sexualise nudity, that’s their own problem.

“People couldn’t bear the thought of me being my naked self in front of my naked children,” she wrote in The Sun.

“‘Wrong’, ‘disgusting’, and ‘child abuse’ were just a few of the words used to describe something that I thought was completely normal.

“I’ve never ever felt uncomfortable about being naked in front of my children and vice versa – how could I let people I don’t even know change my whole outlook on my reality?

“If someone else sees the naked body always in a sexual light that’s their issue, right?”

Speaking about the furore surrounding the photo on Loose Women last year, Stacey explained that bath time is a bonding experience in her family.

“It’s really funny actually because I posted that because it’s a normal thing in our house. It’s almost like having dinner and going to bed and reading a bedtime story.

“Having a bath together is how we communicate and socialise and that’s a massive part of our daily routine, but there was a few comments underneath that picture.”
