Sweet reason eight-year-old boy doesn’t want any Christmas presents

There are plenty of reasons why children love Christmas.

There's food, there's cake, there's lights everywhere and everything is just that little bit more magical. However, the main reason why children love Christmas is because Santa comes and leaves loads of presents for them to enjoy. (We can pretend it's because some quality family times occurs but we'd honestly be kidding ourselves.) There is one boy though, who isn't all that bothered about receiving Christmas presents this year. Eight-year-old Luke from Hertfordshire doesn't want Santa to bring him any presents. Instead, he's asked some money to be donated in his name to a local cancer charity. In his letter to Santa, which mum Tanya so kindly shared online, Luke said that a friend of his has a cousin who is currently battling cancer. Luke said that he wants his friend to "have a cousin and other people." He wrote:

"Dear Mrs Claus and Mr Claus aka Santa.

"The only thing I want for Christmas is some money for Keech Hospice & Sick Children trust because I have a friend, Thomas who has a cousin who is suffering from cancer.

"And I want my friend to have a cousin and other people.

"Please please give me no presents for Christmas.

"Love Luke xxxxxxxx."

Tanya started a Just Giving page for Luke. The mum said she wanted to raise £5,000 for Keech hospice to make Luke's Christmas wish come true. She wrote:

"It was so lovely to hear his letter and how proud we are of him to be so thoughtful to his friend and to other families.

"So we thought it (would) be lovely to try and raise as much as we can for the charities that have helped his friends family.

"We are asking all Santa's helpers to donate to our page so on Christmas Day we can donate to the charities and see what Santa can do to fulfil Luke's wish."

Tanya also took to Facebook to share some information about Orla, the little girl who her son is trying to help. At just 10-months-old, Orla was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She underwent much chemotherapy until she was declared stable. However, recently she relapsed and is now undergoing chemo again.
