Well deserved!

Last year’s Toy Show was a historic one as it was the first one to take place during the pandemic which meant there could be no studio audience.

Nevertheless it became one of the most successful Toy Shows to date, raising millions for children’s charities in Ireland.

The Late Late Toy Show always features incredible children and among those who appeared last year there was one little boy who truly captured the heart of the nation.

Adam King has become an instant celebrity since his appearance on the 2020 Toy Show after bringing along a hand drawn A Hug For You sign and talking about his dream of working for NASA.

Since then the young space enthusiast has been busy promoting his virtual hugs campaign, he designed his memorable cards for Valentine’s Day cards and also has some planned for St Patrick’s Day.

Now King has won the prestigious Lord Mayor Youth Award, a huge accomplishment at only six years of age!

Adam’s father announced the news sharing his six-year-old son’s win on social media along with this message;

“Thank you so much @lordmayorofdublin for this honour! We are humbled and delighted that Adam won a special contribution award at today’s Lord Mayor Youth Awards.

Adam takes great joy in spreading virtual hugs and a positive message of connection around Ireland and the world. For this to be acknowledged really means an awful lot to our family.

Big congrats to all nominees and winners for making a difference to your families and communities!”

King’s star seems to be on the rise and we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for what Adam has got up his sleeve next.

After the huge success of his cards this year we could honestly see the enigmatic King bringing out a book next.
