Looks like he’s not leaving any time soon.

Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has addressed speculation that he is leaving the competition show.

The Spanish professional dancer has been a part of the show since 2016, and he recently reassured fans that he’s not leaving any time soon.

After posting a family photo on Instagram, a fan alluded to the departure rumour by writing: “Can’t believe you’ve left Strictly.”

To this, Gorka urged the fan not to believe the rumour, and added a cheeky wink emoji.

Another fan then weighed in and warned the dancer that if he does leave, she’ll be “devastated”.

On this year’s Strictly, Gorka was partnered with TV presenter Helen Skelton, and they reached the final, finishing as runners-up. Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał were crowned this year’s winners and took home the Glitterball trophy.

Fans speculated that Gorka wasn’t happy with the result after the camera picked him up not smiling as the winner was announced. This, along with suggestions from a source close to the dancer, lead many to believe that he may be calling time on the long-running show.

After the final, a source told The Sun: “He looked so devastated last week because he knew the final might be his last chance of taking home the Glitterball, which had eluded him twice before.

“Gorka has become an established figure in the contest and a name in his own right, which could allow him to go on to bigger things.”

They added: “It remains to be seen if producers will now offer him a deal enticing enough to sign up for next year’s show.”

As well as Gorka’s recent rebuttal against the rumours, his partner Gemma has also suggested that he’s not going anywhere. On Instagram, she shut down the speculation and pointed out how similar rumours were attached to Giovanni last year.
